Why you're not hearing me right now

Hello everyone.

I've been very sick this week, and thus, KP is not on right now. You can listen to WIUS or search for folk music online at this great radio site called Public Radio Fan.

See you in two weeks, when we'll know the results of this year's election. Make sure you VOTE!!!!

Off to Old St. Louie

Hello KP fans!

Well, I'm off to St. Louis for a conference, but I'll be back by showtime on Sunday.

Maybe I'll pick some local music while I'm there.

Here's one of my favorite groups from St. Louis, a barbershop quartet called the Gas House Gang, who have such a sweet a cappella sound. I'm definitely bringing their CDs along for the trip! They have a hilarious version of Mozart's "Eine Kleine Nacht Musik."

Tune in next week for KP

Hello faithful listeners,

If you were tuning in expecting to hear me, fear not! I will return next week with even more traditional and acoustic discoveries from places near and far. If you can't wait, Green Linnet Records has a neat feature where you can listen to their albums for free.

I did some new discs in the mail I can't way to tell you more about.

1) Junior Brown's newest album "Down Home Chrome."
2) Beyond the Pale (Celtic band, Texas)-- their album "Queen of Skye"
3) Sharon Shannon's newest album "Libertango", which features various vocalists including Sinead O'Connor on a Christmas track.

I'm pondering the Archives segment for next week...it'll either be music from Nepal or music from the Silk Road countries. Choices, choices!
